K-3 Metro Support: Contractor’s engineer-of-record designer of the Ballston Station and Line section of Washington Metro Transit project Support of Excavation and bridge Decking while serving as contractor’s chief engineer. Included vertical steel soldier piles, braced by struts and wales and supporting steel deck beams and timber mats to carry public traffic, utility lines and construction equipment over the 60 ft deep excavation. Also supervised installation and removal of support systems. Other projects included design of slurry walls, tie-backs and the underpinning of buildings adjacent to the deep excavations.
